WELCOME
This website is intended to make information on Guyana's electricity and energy sectors more accessible to the public. It offers information on the policies, legislative and institutional framework that are in place to govern the sectors. Further it provides details on the projects and programmes that are, and will be, implemented to further sector development and contribute to the enhancement of the socio-economic situation in Guyana.
It is hoped that the information made available will foster and encourage private participation in electrification projects by persons and companies, both local and international.
The Honourable Mr. Samuel A. Hinds is vested with responsibility for the electricity and energy sectors.

Every individual and business that owns or operates generation equipment, but does not supply electricity to anyone other than their own home or business, must file a report form.

Electricity Sector (Technical Standards) Regulations
New Regulations and Wiring Standards have been prepared for the Electricity Sector in Guyana as part of the Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building Component of the IADB/GoG sponsored Unserved Areas Electrification Programme (UEAP).
